David "Buddha" M. Rody, 67, of Fishers, Indiana—formerly of Fort Wayne, Indiana—passed away on Sunday, July 31, 2022. Born on April 30, 1955, in Fort Wayne, he was a son of the late Thomas M. and Grace M. (D'amato) Rody Jr.
David was working for Nielsen, as a member representative in Indianapolis. He was a head coach for the PAL Raiders, for 29 years, coaching and mentoring thousands of young men throughout the years, and was an Eagle Scout. He enjoyed acting in plays, and movies "Best of the Best Trilogy", he was the salesman of the year for several different companies, including VanDyne-Crotty, Choice One Media, and Nielsen. His greatest joy was spending time with his family and grandchildren.
He is survived by his wife, Olha (Shvarova) Rody, of Fishers, IN; children, Zach (Stephanie Lochbihler) Rody, Jared (Emily Louden) Rody, and Carly (Larry) Sarrazin, Artym (Daria) Tenkov, and Sasha Zakhvatova; grandchildren, Isaac, Ella, Harrison, Luciana, Thea, and Nolan; siblings, Theresa (Barry) Dickinson, Dennis (Audrey) Rody, Cindy (Tim) Heston, Chrissy (Randy) Lewandowski, and Amy (Roland) Hesse; aunts, Elaine Sutter, and Mariella Johnson; uncles, Mark (Jan) Rody, and Gino (Silvia) Vinci; former wife, Katie Adams; numerous nieces, nephews, and cousins; his best friends, Marlon Staggs, Rod Woodson, and David Brandolino; the "Brew Crew" Dean Bobilya, Dan Lawrence, Jim Larimore, and the late David White; as well as all of the PAL Raiders Coaches and Players. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his aunt, Cecelia Voirol; mother-in-law, Louisa Savchenko; niece, Amanda Au; and godson, Brendan Rody.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10:00 am on Monday, August 8, 2022, at Most Precious Blood Catholic Church, 1515 Barthold Ave, Fort Wayne, with calling one hour prior. Calling will also be held on Sunday, August 7, 2022, from 2:00 to 6:00 pm at D.O. McComb & Sons Lakeside Park Funeral Home, 1140 Lake Ave, Fort Wayne.
