David graduated from Bentley High School in Livonia, MI, in 1958. He was a proud US Navy Veteran, who served for 4 years aboard the USS Enterprise aircraft carrier. He was privileged to be on the inaugural voyage that took him around the world. After serving his country, he worked at AT&T as a Quality Control Engineer and retired in 1996. In his free time, he could be found picking apples at Erwin’s Orchard with his wife, kids and grandkids, traveling to upstate New York to go camping with family and friends, and rooting for the University of Michigan on Saturdays. He also enjoyed attending car shows, air shows (especially ones that featured his Blue Angels of the US Navy), and traveling to Hawaii or taking a cruise. He enjoyed gardening and snuggling with his cats and dog, Trixie. He attended Pathway Community Church to worship his Lord and Savior.
David is survived by his wife, Linda Driesen; son, James (Cheryl) Mansell; daughter, Kristy (Brian) Vest; step-daughter Kristy Carsten; step-son Gary(Aimee) Driesen; grandchildren, Jessica Mansell, Daniel (Jennifer) Mansell, Alec Vest, Kaitlin Vest, Benjamin Mansell, Zachary Driesen, Lauren Driesen, and Nathan Driesen; great-grandson, Carter Mansell; brother, Chuck (Nacole) Mansell; and many nieces and nephews.
