David Lee Beal

David L Beal, 74, passed away September 29, 2023 at his home in Fort Wayne, IN surrounded by family. He was born July 31, 1949 in Huntington, IN to the late J. Ernest and Eloise Beal as the eldest of four. He graduated from Huntington North High School in 1967 and went on to attend Indiana University - Purdue University, Fort Wayne. He dedicated 45 years of service to General Electric working in sales and marketing before retiring in 2013.

While living in Charlotte, he met his wife, Susan. The couple married on March 27, 1981 in a small but beautiful ceremony. They moved to the Fort Wayne area in 1987 and were blessed with their daughter, Sarah, 5 years later.

Besides being a loving father and devoted husband, he was an avid golfer. He started golfing in high school and could be found playing 18 holes at Foster Park Golf Club most weekends (and some Thursday afternoons). His most recent golf accomplishments included scoring a total under his age, joining Foster Park’s Hole-in-One Club on three separate occasions, and 1st place in the 2015 Ironman Golf Tournament Senior Flight. When not on the course, he could often be found caring for his lawn and garden beds.

He is survived by his loving wife of 42 years, Susan Beal, daughter Sarah Ross of Fort Wayne, IN; sister Marilyn (William) Wilfert of Two Rivers, WI; brothers, Richard Beal of North Manchester, IN; and Robert (Rose) Beal of Huntington, IN

Visitation will be from 2-4 and 6-8 pm Thursday October 5, 2023 at D.O. McComb and Sons Foster Park Funeral Home 6301 Fairfield Ave. Fort Wayne, IN.
