Darlene A. Ellis, 89, of Fort Wayne, Indiana, passed away on February 26, 2025. She was born on May 29, 1935, to the late, Ester and Oliver Skiles. She married Lloyd A. Ellis on January 10, 1953, he preceded her in death.
Darlene attended Northside High School. She was a homemaker, waitress and secretary at American Hoist and Derrick. Darlene was a member of Waynedale United Methodist Church for over 40 years. She enjoyed playing hand bells at church and entertaining family and friends. Darlene also loved playing the piano and spending time with her grandkids.
Darlene is survived by her daughter, Gina (Jeff) Dreyfus, of Fort Wayne, IN; 3 grandchildren, Michael Wirick, Stacy (Mark) Utterback, Cassi (Nate) Kleist; two great-grandchildren, Aydia Utterback and Jackson Kleist.
She was preceded in death by her two sons, Steve Ellis and Gary Ellis.
Visitation will be on Saturday, March 8, 2025, at Waynedale United Methodist Church, 2501 Church St., Fort Wayne, IN 46809, from 11:00 AM – 12:00 PM. The Funeral Service to begin at 12:00 PM, with burial to follow at Covington Memorial Gardens Cemetery.
