Daniel J. Nelson

Daniel J. Nelson, 61, passed away November 30, 2018 at home. He was born June 21, 1957 to George Nelson and Helenanne (Nelson) Jefferson in Marion, IN. Dan went to Marion High School graduating in 1975. He then moved to Fort Wayne to go to Interstate Technical Institute. Dan worked at Shambaugh as a service manager and Regional Safety Manager for 23 years. He was a member of Plumbers and Steamfitters Local 166. Dan was a Jack Daniels squire, dedicated father and uncle. He loved enjoying time with friends and families and would host parties for everyone to enjoy. He even was an officiant, presiding over friends and family member’s weddings. Dan is survived by his wife of 41 years Denisa "Dee" Nelson, daughter, Devon Nelson, special daughter, Melissa King, beloved nieces and nephews, aunt, Jayne Galligan, brother-in-law, and sisters-in-law. He was preceded in death by his parents, siblings, David Nelson and Jeri Trina. Services will be Wednesday December 5, 2018 at D.O. McComb and Sons-Pine Valley Park at 2 pm with calling an hour prior. Visitation will be Tuesday December 4, 2018 at the funeral home from 2pm - 4pm and 6pm to 8pm.
