Connie M. LaBrash, 88, of Fort Wayne passed away on Saturday June 26, 2021. She was born on October 21, 1932 in Fort Wayne to the late Christian and Verma (Hinton) Luecke. Connie obtained her Bachelor’s degree from Valparaiso and Master’s degree in Education from Indiana University. She taught for Southwest Allen County Schools for 26 years. Connie was a member at Trinity English Lutheran Church for 55 years where she led adult bible study classes there for over 20 years. She was a member at Emmanuel Lutheran Church for the last 10 years. Connie was a member of the AAUW and was Woman of the Year in 2005. Connie loved playing games with grandkids and great grandkids. She played in several Bridge groups over the years. She also loved working on family genealogy and discovered her family was one of the first families in Fort Wayne. Connie is survived by her daughter, Barbara (Stu) Wiler; sons, William (Jewell), James, David (Missy), and Daniel LaBrash; grandchildren, Phil (Jessica) LaBrash, Hilary (Will) Cuddy, Nick (Kendall) LaBrash, Kelly LaBrash, Aly (Jordan) Woody, and Jordan Wiler; great-grandchildren, Will, Ruth, Ophelia, Edith, Emma, Kurt, and baby Cuddy on the way; and sister, Jo Ferguson. Also preceding her in passing was her husband, John LaBrash; brother, Christian J. Luecke; sister, Dorothy Rhode; and daughter-in-law, Becky LaBrash. A funeral service will be held at 11:30 am on Saturday, July 3, 2021 at Emmanuel Lutheran Church 917 W. Jefferson Blvd Fort Wayne, IN 46802 with visitation one hour prior. Visitation will also be held from 6-8pm on Friday, July 2, 2021 at Klaehn, Fahl, & Melton Funeral Home 6424 Winchester Road Fort Wayne, Indiana 46819. Memorial contributions may be made to Emmanuel Lutheran Church or Concordia Lutheran High School.
