Christie D. Lake, 99, passed away on Sunday, February 12, 2023 at Parkview Regional Medical Center. She was born October 12, 1923 in Huntington County to the late E. Russell and Glagie I (Meyers) Allen. She worked as a secretary for FWCS, retiring in 1982 and then served as church secretary from 1983 to 1998 at South Wayne United Methodist Church and then six years at Calvary United Methodist Church. Christie was a very active member at Calvary United Methodist Church and was a founding member of Silver Sneakers at the church. She also was a member of Fort Wayne Retired Secretaries, Jefferson Center Alumni Association of Huntington County and the MNO Club. Surviving are her children, Bruce (Nancy) Lake, Jill (Edward) Weber, Dennis (Joanne) Lake, and Kelly (Robert Welly) Lake; brother, Jay B. Allen; eight grandchildren; nine great grandchildren; 2 step-grandchildren; and 6 step great grandchildren. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Francis O. Lake; daughter, Beth A. Lake; and siblings, Shirley Schultz, Dorrell Allen, Dorotha Brown, Harry Allen, Sister Mary Martha Allen, Betty Vetor, and Robert Allen. Funeral service will be Saturday, February 18, 2023 at 10:30 AM at Calvary United Methodist Church, 6301 Winchester Road, Fort Wayne, IN 46819 with one hour of visitation prior. Visitation will also be on Friday, February 17, 2023 from 2:00 PM to 6:00 PM at Klaehn, Fahl & Melton Funeral Home, 6424 Winchester Road, Fort Wayne, IN 46819.
