Charlotte A. Smith, 91, of Fort Wayne, passed away on February 27, 2021. Born on June 7, 1929, in Fort Wayne, she was a daughter of the late, George and Elsie (nee Lehman) Vorndran, and was a member of the Cathedral of the Immaculate Conception Catholic Church, Fort Wayne.
She is survived by her daughter, Elaine (Dr. Dan) Nicholson; sons, Gregory (Kathryn) Smith, and Karl (JoAnna) Smith; grandchildren, Kristina (Matt) Pettigrew, April (Jason) Risser, and Jeffrey Lowe; great-grandchildren, Alexis and Isabelle Pettigrew; and sister, Mary Stoltz. She was also preceded in death by her husband of more than 66 years, James A. Smith Jr., in 2017; son, James Smith IV; son-in-law, Alfredo Gugliota; and nine siblings.
Mass of Christian Burial will be held 10:00am, Thursday, March 4, 2021, at the Cathedral of the Immaculate Conception Catholic Church (1122 South Clinton Street, Fort Wayne), with calling one hour prior. Calling will also be held from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8pm, Wednesday, March 3, 2021, at D.O. McComb and Sons Pine Valley Park Funeral Home (1320 East Dupont Road, Fort Wayne). Burial will be in the Catholic Cemetery, Fort Wayne.
