Charles E. Blanton, 84, of Fort Wayne, passed away on Thursday, December 28, 2023. Charles was born in Muncie, Indiana on June 5, 1939, a son of the late Charles and Carrie (Blanton) Lewis. He worked for Benchmark services formerly Anthony Wayne Services for 20 years. One of Charlie's big accomplishments was buying his own home. He was an artist and participated in art shows to show off his talent. Charlie was a man of faith, he loved his lord and savior. He was a hard worker, full of good humor and deeply loved his family and friends. Charlie is survived by his cousins, Vernon (Sheryl) Reese, Marilyn Kemp, Sharon Prude and Mahlon (Geraldine) Kemp; and his caretakers, Sue Christman and Darrell Love. He was also preceded in death by his aunt, Lucille Kemp; and cousins, Marvin Kemp, Ted Blanton, Fred Blanton and Victoria Davis. A funeral service will be held at 1:00 PM on Saturday, January 13, 2024 at Klaehn, Fahl & Melton Funeral Home 6424 Winchester Road, Fort Wayne, Indiana 46819, with visitation one hour prior. Burial to follow the service at Lindenwood Cemetery. Contributions in Charlie's memory may be made to Benchmark Services.
