Charlene Marcile Keefer

Charlene met and married Mark A. Keefer, Jr. in Fort Wayne when he returned from the war in 1946. They had four children, Susan K. (Keefer) Michell (Jeff), Arlington, TX, Mark A. Keefer III, deceased, Heidi L. (Keefer) Rae, Fort Wayne, and Dr. Matthew A. Keefer (Wynne), Zionsville, IN. Charlene attended North Side High School and continued on to IPFW to complete her RN Associates degree. She worked for James P. Scudder, MD, Urologist for the following 25 years. Charlene enjoyed playing golf, dancing to the big bands when she was young, and most of all, her job. She is survived by grandchildren, Katie Parrish (Steve), Lisa Dameron, Peter Michell, Mark (Keefer) Slater (Cathy), Chad Keefer (Emma), Matt W. Rae, Brice Keefer (Liz), Jordan Keefer, and Haley Keefer, 11 great grandchildren, and her sister Norma (Canfield) Fischer. Charlene spent her final weeks at Heritage Park Nursing Home being cared for by their wonderful staff of people.

A memorial service to honor Charlene's life will be held at 11:00am on Tuesday, June 28, 2022, at D.O. McComb and Sons Maplewood Park Funeral Home, 4015 Maplecrest Road, Fort Wayne, with calling one hour prior. She will be laid to rest at Catholic Cemetery, Fort Wayne, Indiana.
