Calvin Gregory (Greg) Topper, 70, passed away peacefully at home on on Tuesday, September 6, 2022 after a brief battle with cancer. Greg was born October 19, 1951, in Pike County, Missouri, to Calvin Richard Topper, who survives, and Norma Sue Givens.
Greg graduated from South Side High School in 1971 and then worked as a machinist until his death. He had a passion for the sky and received his pilot's license at the age of 16. He was a member of the Times Corners Lions Club, Quiet Birdmen (QBs), the President of the EAA Vintage Aircraft Association, Chapter 37 and participated in the EAA Young Eagles. He was a loving husband, wonderful father, grandfather, and a man truly loved by everyone.
Greg is survived by his loving wife of 41 years, Susan L. (Burton) Topper; father, Calvin R. Topper; sister, Janet Horn; his son, Gregg Hart (Jennifer); his daughters, Leslie Hovarter & Jamie Doyle; 10 grandchildren; 4 great-grandchildren; many nieces, nephews, cousins, and two faithful companions, Kujo and Eli. He was preceded in death by his mother and stepfather, Norma and Tudor Glassburn.
A Celebration of Life Gathering to honor Greg's life and legacy will be held on October 15, 2022, from 3:00 pm to 7:00 pm at DeKalb County Airport, 2710 County Road 60, Auburn, Indiana. Arrangements by D.O. McComb & Sons Covington Knolls Funeral Home, 8325 Covington Road, Fort Wayne.
