Bruce Eldon Swihart, 88, passed away February 11, 2025, at Five Star Residences of Fort Wayne, IN. He was born May 4, 1936, in Fort Wayne, IN, son of late Ned and Bertha Swihart. He graduated from Arcola High School.
Bruce worked as a stockman for International Harvester from 1962-1983, and after retiring, he worked at Tri City Automotive for 19 years.
He loved to play golf with his wife and plan outings with family and friends. Bruce enjoyed bowling and riding motorcycles.
He is survived by his children, Pam Swihart, of Fort Wayne, IN, Greg Swihart of Arcola, IN and Steve Swihart of Fort Wayne, IN; grandchildren, Amanda Swihart, Chad Swihart, Danelle (Bruce) Bright, and Grant Swihart; 8 great-grandchildren; sister, Linda Keller; and sister-in-law, Phyllis Swihart.
Bruce was preceded in death by his wife of 61 years, Melissa Ann Swihart; brothers, Kermit and Kent Swihart; and brother-in-law, Norm Keller.
Funeral Service will be 3:00 PM Sunday, February 16, 2025, at D.O. McComb and Sons Funeral Homes - Covington Knolls, 8325 Covington Road, Fort Wayne, IN, with visitation two hours prior.
Memorials may be directed to the Fort Wayne Rescue Mission.
