Bonita M. Bernard, 80, of Fort Wayne, passed away on April 17, 2017. Born on April 2, 1937, in Brownsville, Pennsylvania, she was a daughter of the late John S. and Viva M. Greenisen. A member of St. Joseph United Methodist Church, Fort Wayne, she worked as a secretary for State Farm Insurance, WKJG and the Council on Aging before her retirement.
She is survived by her husband of 55 years, William J. Bernard; children, Ellen M. (Tom) Bowser and William A. Bernard; granddaughters, Alicia (Jake) McKim, Lauren (Derek) Graber and Shauna Bowser; step-grandson, Adam Bowser; great-grandson, Elias McKim.
Funeral service will be 12pm, Friday, April 21, at Hockemeyer & Miller Funeral Home, 6131 St. Joe Road, Fort Wayne, with calling from 10am until time of service. Burial will be in Greenlawn Memorial Park, 6600 Covington Road, Fort Wayne. Memorial donations may be given to St. Joseph United Methodist Church, 6004 Reed Road, Fort Wayne.
