Betty L Ort

Betty LaVon Ort, 95, of Fort Wayne, passed away on Tuesday, January 25, 2022. Born August 30,1926 in Allen County (Indiana), she was the daughter of the late Elvin Sr. and Flossie Kimmel. She was a member of the First Baptist Church of Ossian and VFW Auxiliary, 6814 S Anthony Blvd., Fort Wayne, IN. 46816. She was a WWII switchboard operator and enjoyed managing the Millinery Dept. at Fort Wayne Kmart South for many years. She also enjoyed spending time at Hamilton Lake and camping. In her final days, Betty was looking forward to meeting her Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. Surviving family include her children, Diana (Richard) Andrews, Terry (Rhonda) Ort and Dan Ort; 5 grandchildren and 7 great-grandchildren; sister, Ruth (Jack) Mougin; sister-in-law, Barb Kimmel and many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by husband Isaac L. Ort and siblings, Bernice, Mildred, Evelyn, Doris, Norma and Elvin Jr.

A funeral service will be held Thursday February 10, 2022 at 1:00 PM with calling one hour prior at D.O. McComb and Sons Funeral Home 6301 Fairfield Ave., Fort Wayne, Indiana. Interment at Covington Memorial Gardens 8408 Covington Rd., Fort Wayne, Indiana 46804.
