Betty Lois Suydam Hall, 100, passed away March 8, 2024 at Georgetowne Place in Fort Wayne, IN. She was born August 4, 1923, in Adrian, MI, the daughter of Richard P. and Mary Elizabeth (Hyder) Suydam. She was a homemaker and loving wife, mother and grandmother.
Betty was a member of Woodburn United Methodist Church. She was an avid reader, writer and author of a children’s book, “Wings” that was written when she was still in her teens and was published with love by her children when she was 98. Her great grandchildren illustrated the story. Betty enjoyed gardening and music, but the love of her life was her husband Flave, and they has a life story that still goes on today.
She is survived by her children, Richard F. (Diane) Hall of Woodburn, IN; Beverly Burns of Detroit, MI; Cynthia (Ron) Tabor of Frankfort, IL; sister Carol Winters of Ypsilanti, MI; 10 grandchildren and 22 great grandchildren.
Betty was preceded in death by her husband, Flave C. Hall, November 11, 2003, daughter, Carol E. Hubbard, siblings, Edward and Bruce Suydam, and her son in law, Ben Burns.
Funeral service will be 12:00 pm Thursday, March 14, 2024 at D.O. McComb and Sons Maplewood Park Funeral Home 4017 Maplecrest Road, Fort Wayne, IN, with visitation two hours prior. Burial and committal service will be 3:00 pm at Pleasant View Cemetery, Blissfield, MI.
