BETTY JEAN CARPENTER, was called home on Thursday, Dec. 26, 2013. She was preceded in death by her husband, Cloid (Dugan) M. Carpenter. She was a loving mother to her sons, Jim of Mesa, Ariz., John (Deb) of Saint Augustine, Fla.; daughters, Patsy Koepke and Pamela Carpenter, both of Fort Wayne, and Donna James of Lexington, Ky.; nine grandchildren; 12 great-grandchildren; and one great- great-grandchild. She also leaves behind many friends and family members and especially those that loved Miss Betty at Coventry Meadows Augusta Cottage. Funeral service is 2 p.m. Friday, Jan. 3, 2014, at Elzey-Patterson-Rodak Home for Funerals, 6810 Old Trail Road, Fort Wayne, with Suzanne Conner officiating. with Visitation is from 2 to 5 p.m. Thursday, Jan. 2, 2014, at the funeral home. Preferred memorials to the Alzheimer's Foundation of America.
