Betty Ann (Glenn) Heyman, 89, of Fort Wayne, IN, died October 22, 2017. She was born on July 30, 1928 to Matthew and Marian (Snyder) Glenn. Betty grew up in southern Ohio in the Cincinnati area, moving to Fort Wayne after high school, where she lived for the remainder of her life. She was employed by Wolf and Dessauer in the early 1950’s as a fashion illustrator. She met, and in 1952, married Robert J. Heyman of Fort Wayne, and with the arrival of their children she became a full-time homemaker. She was an artist, enjoyed books, was an avid listener of jazz music, and she loved animals. In later years, she had a particular affection for her daughter, Nancy’s family cats. She is survived by her daughters, Susan (Dana) Whinnery of Farmington Hills, MI, Nancy (Rey Rodriguez) Heyman of Fort Wayne, IN; grandchildren, Patrick, Kevin, Erin, Cara, and Ryan Whinnery, all of Michigan. She also leaves behind a brother, David (Peggy) Glenn of Fishers, IN, and several nieces and nephews, especially Jennifer Savage (Tim) Cawley of Visalia, CA. Betty was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Robert; and her sister Dorothy Jeanne (Glenn) Savage of Visalia, CA. Funeral service will be held on Thursday, October 26, 2017 at 12:30pm at The Towne House Chapel, 2209 St. Joe Center Road, Fort Wayne, IN 46825, officiated by Chaplain Doug Vogel. Visitation will be held 1 hour prior. Private family burial will take place in Highland Park Cemetery, Fort Wayne, IN. The family wishes to acknowledge and thank the Towne House Retirement Community, and Heartland Hospice Care, for all of the compassion and kindness show to Betty and her family.
