Bernard F. “Ski” Wisniewski, 88, of Fort Wayne, passed away Saturday, June 26, 2021 at his home. Born on October 9, 1932 in Fort Wayne, he was a son of the late Frank and Hilda M. (Diedrich) Wisniewski.
Bernard married Marian in 1976. He was a Navy veteran who served in the Korean War. In 1996, he was Commander of Indiana Chapter 1 of the Korean War Vet Association, Board Member of American Legion Lincoln Post #82, was on the Allen County Council of Veterans, Vice President of the Board for National Veterans Memorial Shrine, and was a Grabill Volunteer Fire Fighter for 23 years, 13 of those years as Captain.
Bernard is survived by his wife, Marian; sons, David A. (Randi) Wisniewski of Sunny Vale, CA and Michael L. Wisniewski of Harlan; daughter, Elaine M. Wisniewski of Fort Wayne; four grandchildren; and sister, and Dolores Benhower of Fort Wayne. He was also preceded in death by brothers, Robert and Richard Wisniewski; and sisters, Janet White, Dorothy Brown, and Joan.
A service will be held on July 1, 2021 at 1:00p.m. at D.O. McComb and Sons Covington Knolls, 8325 Covington Road, Fort Wayne with calling from 11:00AM until time of service.
