Mom and I have always been close.  I could talk to her about everything.  She was always wise, loving, encouraging and supportive. Dad's passing was such a change to her life.  They had done extensive traveling throughout the US and to the Bahamas.  Went to Florida as snowbirds for 10 years.  Spent alot of cherished time with family and friends.  And did everything together for 62 years.  She persevered thru the changes with courage, grace and was able to hold onto her peace.  As grief became tolerable she embrassed the joy life still held.  She loved life, was sharp in mind and wit.   Kept a great outlook and always had a sweet giggle and appreciation for her health and ability to still get in our vehicles to go eat out and shop.  We enjoyed shopping and eating out in her later years.  Such precious time spent together.  And long talks visiting on the phone.  She was my emotional rock and pointed me to The Lord and prayed with me often.  And I give thanks that I had my Mom to share all the milestones of my life.  She had a great sense of humor and a creative imagination.  She was a talented artist.  She told me she asked The Lord to use her as long as He wanted her on this earth.  And He was faithful in giving Mom the opportunities to enhance the lives of those around her.  For 4 plus years she used her window painting at her assisted living facility as a ministry to bring smiles to residents' faces and God the glory.  She told the story of His birth, crucifixion, resurrection and the love and hope found in Him thru her artwork.  She prayed with others when they told her in confidence their struggles.  She loved all of her family so very much !  She prayed for all of us daily. And The Lord answered her prayers throughout her life in wonderful ways.   Although I miss her very much I rejoice that she is right where she wanted to be, with The Lord and Dad.  She had strong Faith and Love.  She was a Wonderful Mom !!!  Love Always and Forever

My Mom and I have been so alike since I was a kid. We practically could read each other's minds. Growing up there was a period where Dad was my best friend. But after I turned 15 or so,  Mom and I were besties and still were to this day. Going to garage sales, movies, Goodwill or just eating at a restaurant... We were always laughing and having fun together whenever we could. We had the same sense of humor and she always just got me. We could talk about ANYTHING. She always knew the right thing to say. Or the best thing I needed to hear. She was a humongous support to me. Not only have I lost my Mom, but I have lost my best friend. There will be a lot of joy missing from my life now. And love. Always love. I miss you Mom.
