Barbara Jean Shaw, 90, of Garrett, Indiana was reunited with her late husband, Robert A. Shaw on February 7, 2022. She went peacefully in her sleep with her daughter, Sandy Shaw, and grand dog and sidekick, Bear, by her side. Barbara was born March 7, 1931 in Marshall, MI. After moving to Arizona from Michigan, she spent most of her time playing Bingo, going to Laughlin to play the slots, and crocheting award winning afghans. She also loved playing Super Mario and Tetris with her 3 grandchildren and keeping up with Hollywood gossip by reading the tabloids. Barbara moved to Indiana 6 years ago to be closer to her family. During the last two years, she received excellent care from her favorite nurse, Susan of Heartland Hospice. She was most proud of meeting her first great grandson, Kyree, just a week before her passing. Surviving is her daughter, Sandy Shaw of Garrett; grandchildren, Shawn (Veronica) Meier of Pendleton, Amanda Meier of Columbia City, and Nicki Meier (John Bullock); and great grandson, Kyree Meier-Bullock of Fort Wayne. She was also preceded in death by her Brother Earl Chisholm. Barbara donated her remains to Science Care for educational and research purposes. There will be no public service. At a later date there will be a private ceremony when she is laid to rest with her husband at Fort Custer National Cemetery in Battle Creek, Michigan. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be given to Heartland Hospice or the American Heart Association.
