Barbara Ann Peden, 83, passed away on December 4, 2022 after a battle with kidney disease. She was born in Fort Wayne, IN on July 20, 1939, the daughter of the late Irvin R and Dorothy H. (Gorham) Anspach. Barbara was a member of the class of 1958 at Central High School. In 1959 she married David Lee Peden. Barbara was a member of St. Charles Borromeo Catholic Church. Barbara enjoyed decorating and crafts; she worked at The Apple Orchard at Glenbrook Mall and co-owned The Family Tree Gifts in New Haven. Barbara and David struggled with infertility early in their marriage but were blessed by the adoption of their eldest and then surprised three years later when Barbara gave birth to triplets. Barbara was a dedicated mother who volunteered for many posts as her children were growing up. She was also a surrogate mother to many of her children’s friends. She will be remembered as a cherished and loving mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, aunt and sister. Surviving are her children, Teena (John) Humphrey, Tracy (Michael) Peden-Hoeft, and Trent (Diana) Peden; grandchildren, Kimberly Milewski, Heather (Christopher) Schillinger, Bailee (Skyler) King, Jansen Humphrey, Hunter Peden, and Todd Humphrey; great-grandchildren, Allie Justice, Cooper Schillinger, Evelynn Peden, Carmin King and Lake King; sisters-in-law, Vivian Miller, Nancy Peden, and Suzanne Stocksdale and brothers-in-law, David Stocksdale and Robert Bowlby. She was preceded in death by her husband of 60 years, David L. Peden, her son, Terry Peden; sister, Marlene Bowlby; brothers-in-law, Thomas Peden, Donald Suelzer, Jim Talerico and Jack Miller; and sisters-in-law, Sharon Talerico and Cindy Brantley. No funeral or memorial service is immediately planned. The family will notify loved ones in the future when a service is scheduled.
