Barbara graduated from Elmhurst High School. She worked at Bennett Manufacturing for over 10 years as a seamstress. Babara was a Union Steward for the Amalgamate Clothing and Textile Union Local 146. She is survived by her children, Elvin “Skeeter” (Sara) Kimmel, Ricky (Diana) Kimmel, and Jeff Kimmel, all of Fort Wayne, IN; brother, Terry Loucks of Wisconsin; 8 grandchildren; 17 great-grandchildren; and several great-great-grandchildren. Barbara was preceded in death by her husband, Elvin R. Kimmel; son-in-law, David Smith; brothers, Bob, Dick Loucks; sisters, Cork Hershberger, Phyllis Bittner, and Harriett Perry.
A Funeral Service will be held at 1:30 pm on Monday, April 4, 2022, at D.O. McComb and Sons Lakeside Park Funeral Home, 1140 Lake Ave. Fort Wayne, IN, with visitation beginning 2 hours prior to the service. Burial will take place at Highland Park Cemetery.
