Barbara worked for Montgomery Wards and retired with 23 years of service. Barbara was a dedicated member of Simpson United Methodist Church for many years. She loved to travel, dance, crochet, knit, read and bowl. Surviving are her son, Steven W. (Theresa) Howard; daughters, Cheryl L. (David) Childers, and Susan (Dennis) McComb; 11 grandchildren and 22 greatgrandchildren. She was also preceded in death by her husband, Robert M. Howard in 2018; and a daughter, Janice Ann Crouse.
A calling for Barbara will be held from 4:00 - 7:00 PM on Tuesday, September 21, 2021, at Hockemeyer & Miller Funeral Home (6131 St. Joe Road, Fort Wayne). A calling will also occur Wednesday, September 22, 2021 from 12:30 PM to 1:30 PM, with a funeral service to follow at 1:30 PM. Burial will take place in Lindenwood Cemetery. Arrangements entrusted to Hockemeyer & Miller Funeral Home.
