Barbara Ann Naab Gilbert, 82, of Fort Wayne, Ind., passed away on December 28, 2018 at Parkview Hospital Randallia. Born Nov. 17, 1936, in Markle, Ind., she was the daughter of Clarence and Helen Naab. While attending Huntington College, she met Keith Gilbert in 1954 and was married on Feb 5, 1956. They moved to Natrona Heights, Penn. (a steel town outside of Pittsburgh). Barbara and Keith had an amazing marriage, wonderful family, and a life filled with joy, travel, friends, and food. With a love for God, music and sweets and gifts in crafts and cooking, her true passion was her family. Frequently vacationing together, they sometimes had over 20 people from 4 generations in the same house: cooking, playing games, and taking long walks on the beach. Keith and Barbara moved back to Ind. to take care of their mothers, who lived to be 92 and 104. Barbara’s dementia started in her late 60s and slowly took her away from her family.
Barbara was preceded in her death by her parents and her brother John. She is survived by her amazing husband Keith, children Fred (Cindy) Gilbert, Jim (Chris) Gilbert, Andrea (Steve Krug) Worsham, and Brian (Andy) Gilbert; grandchildren Carter (Chelsea) Gilbert, Kylie Gilbert, Zach Gilbert, Christian Gilbert, Katie Gilbert, Quinn Gilbert, Karen Gilbert, Becca Gilbert, Hannah Worsham, and Lindsay Worsham; and brother David (Jayne) Naab. Funeral services 11:30 am, Saturday, January 5, 2019 at D.O. McComb and Sons Funeral Home-Pine Valley with calling from 10:00 am to 11:30 am prior to the service. Burial in Markle Cemetery.
