Audrey Stier, 91, of Fort Wayne, died on Tuesday, August 16, 2016. Born June 17, 1925 in New Castle, she was a daughter of the late Rufus Stanley and Oella (Brown) Norman. Audrey was married to the late James “Jimmy” Stier, former City Councilman. She was a homemaker as well as a devoted and loving mother and grandmother who raised five children. Audrey was a very artistic person, as well as a professional model in her early years. She was very well read and was an accomplished writer of prose. After years of struggling with Dementia and Alzheimer’s disease, Audrey is now rejoicing in heaven with loved ones that have passed before her. She was a sweet, kind and generous soul who was quick to encourage or help anyone. She leaves a wonderful, spiritual legacy for her children and grandchildren. She had a light and spirit that shined brightly along with a wit and sense of humor until the end. She was loved by everyone who was lucky enough to know her. Her guidance, support and love for all will be greatly missed by her entire family. She is survived by her sons, Bruce (Jorrelynn) Stier and Brian Stier, both of Fort Wayne; daughters, Kimberly (Michael Eagleson) Stier of New Haven and Tammy (Hank) Seibel of Leo; five grandchildren, James Jayson (Gabriela Montoya) Stier, Christopher Utterback, Brooke, Brianna, and Alexis Seibel; great grandson, Jayson Stier; and brother, Dr. Thomas (Marlene) Norman of Loveland, CO. She was also preceded in death by her son, Kenton James Stier; and two infant twin granddaughters. Funeral Service will be Saturday, August 20, 2016 at 1:00pm at Hockemeyer and Miller Funeral Home, 6131 St. Joe Rd., Fort Wayne, with calling three hours prior. Memorials may be made to Turnstone or to Heartland Home Health & Hospice.
