Arthur W. Parry Jr., 90, of Fort Wayne passed away February 5, 2014, surrounded by his loving family at his home. He was born August 2, 1923 in Fort Wayne. He graduated from South Side High School and earned his B.A. from DePauw University and attended Indiana University studying Journalism and Law.
His military service included Army Reserve Corps, 1942-43; and served in the European Theater during WWII in the U.S. Army 331st Inf., 83rd Div 1943-46. He was the XII Corps Track and Field Champion for the 100 Meter Dash in Regensberg, Germany, during WWII.
He was a lifelong athlete, lettering in track at South Side and DePauw. Numerous records were set in the 100 yard dash including a speedy 9.8 seconds as a Senior at DePauw. He was also an avid tennis player and golfer.
He was employed by Moore Business Forms, Patterson Fletcher, Central Soya Company, and co-owner of Prentice Products. Upon retirement he loved to travel and plan big family trips.
He was preceded in death by his parents Arthur W. and Marguerite Parry, Sr. Surviving family are his wife of 64 years Anna Mae Parry (Jacobson), daughters Linda Parry of Columbia City, IN, Cynthia Parry (Michael Lemon) of Columbia City, IN, Patricia Molten (Donald C. Molten Jr.) of Hudson, OH, Janet Parry (Steve Boyd) of Mars, PA, nine grandchildren, and nine great-grandchildren.
