Ann Louise (Wagner) Warner, 71, passed away peacefully at Lutheran Hospital on Friday, June 17, 2022, following more than a year of cancer treatments. She was born on April 23, 1951, in Fort Wayne, the daughter of Richard and Jean (McNaughton) Wagner.
Ann is survived by her husband, Fredrick; and their three children, Daniel (Amy) Warner, Margaret (Eric) Martindale of Fort Wayne, and David Warner of Chicago; Dan and Amy’s five children, Reagan, Max, Nash, Hudson, and Hadley; and her sister Janet (Michael) Bangert of Fort Wayne. Married in 1982, Ann and Fred would have celebrated their fortieth anniversary in September of this year.
Ann attended St. John the Baptist Catholic School and graduated from Bishop Luers in 1969. At Ball State University, she earned a bachelor’s degree in history and a master’s degree in accounting. She joined Lincoln National Investment Management as a portfolio analyst, became a portfolio manager, and was later named senior vice president of portfolio management. She was a Chartered Financial Analyst. She retired early from LNC in 1998 to become a full-time mom to her youthful children. A devout Catholic, Ann was an active member of St. Elizabeth Ann Seton Catholic Church, where she taught religious education classes and led Bible study.
Ann was an avid reader, especially of history. She loved her family dearly and took great pride in her children and grandchildren. She will be deeply missed.
A funeral service honoring Ann’s life will be held at 11:00 am on Friday, June 24, 2022, at St. Elizabeth Ann Seton Catholic Church, 10700 Aboite Center Road, Fort Wayne, with a visitation at 10:00 am, one hour prior. A visitation will also be held from 3:00 to 5:00 pm and 6:00 to 8:00 pm on Thursday, June 23, 2022, at D.O. McComb & Sons Covington Knolls Funeral Home, 8325 Covington Road, Fort Wayne. She will be laid to rest at Greenlawn Memorial Park, Fort Wayne, Indiana.
