ALVIN H. LINNEMEIER, 93, of Fort Wayne, died on Tuesday, April 10, 2012, at St. Joseph Hospital. Born in Allen County, he was the son of the late Edward and Nora (Thiele) Linnemeier. He was a U.S. Army World War II veteran; a member of St. Paul's Lutheran Church and American Legion Post 499. He was a farmer and school bus driver with Fort Wayne Community Schools. Surviving are his wife of 63 years, LaVerne E.; sons, Steven A. (Inge) Linnemeier of Fort Wayne and Dale A. (Marilou) Linnemeier of Churubusco; grandchildren, Sara (Steve) Seufert, Paul (Amanda) Linnemeier, Jennifer (Jeff) Malcolm, and Matthew Linnemeier; great-grandchildren, Chase and Carter Malcolm, and Thomas Seufert; and sisters, Mildred Schrenk of Monroe, Wis. and Dorothy (Wilmer) Rodenbeck of Fort Wayne. He was also preceded in death by his brothers, Herman and Louis Linnemeier; and sister, Hilda Kammeier. Funeral service is 11 a.m. Friday, April 13, 2012, at Hockemeyer & Miller Funeral Home, 6131 St. Joe Road, with calling one hour prior. The Rev. Richard Maassel officiating. Calling also from 4 to 7 p.m. Thursday, April 12, 2012, at the funeral home. Burial in Eel River Cemetery, Churubusco.
