Alice Jean Retz,76, passed away on Saturday, February 24, 2024 in Fort Wayne, Indiana. She lived the last two and a half years in Fort Wayne, but spent the rest of her life in Winchester, Indiana on the family farm. Alice was born on April 18, 1947, the first child of Kenny and Helen (Suta) Retz. She graduated with honors and as a member of the National Honor Society from Winchester Community High School. After high school, she attended Ball State University. Alice worked various positions in Winchester and the surrounding cities. She was most proud of the family farm and maintained the property, on her own, for almost 20 years. Alice fought a courageous battle the last two and a half years, never complaining and always optimistic. She is survived by her sister, Thelma; brother-in-law, Jack; niece, Kelly (Paul) DellaGrotte; nephew, Kenny (Kendra) Sinak; four great nieces; and one great nephew. Alice loved her family deeply. A Mass of Christian Burial for Alice will be held at 11:00am on Friday, March 1, 2024 at St. Peter's Catholic Church, 518 East Dewald Street, Fort Wayne, Indiana 46803. She will be laid to rest next to her parents at the Fountain Park Cemetery 700 South Main Street Winchester, Indiana 47394 on Monday, March 4, 2024. Alice asked that any memorial donations in her name be made to the Winchester Animal Control at 900 North West Street, Winchester, Indiana 47394.
