

ALICE FAYE DAVIS, 71, of Fort Wayne, passed into eternity to be with her Lord and Savior Jesus Christ on Thursday, Dec. 10, 2015. Born and raised in Pikeville, Ky., Faye was the daughter of the late Walter and Orpha Thacker. She lived in Fort Wayne since 1961 and retired from Mattel as the human resource manager in 1999. She was a loving and devoted wife and mother and a member of First Assembly of God Church for 52 years. "Mama Faye" as she was affectionately called, was known for her generosity, love, and wonderful sense of humor. She was the spiritual matriarch of her extended family and all who knew and loved her. She is survived by her husband of 53 years, James Davis of Fort Wayne; daughter, Sheila (Keith) Weldy of Peyton, Colo.; son, Michael (Julie) Davis of Paola, Kan.; brother, Bob (Betty) Thacker of Herndon, Va.; brother, William (Deborah) Thacker of Pikeville, Ky.; sisters, Pauline (Ward) Craft and Nancy Craft of Fort Wayne, and Sue Wright of New Haven, Ind. "Grammie Faye" also leaves behind eight grandchildren who were her pride and joy. She was also preceded in death by her sister, Mary Williamson of Wyandotte, Mich. and sister, Norma Hunt of Haines City, Fla.; and brother-in-law, Mike Craft. Funeral service is 1 p.m., Monday, Dec. 14, 2015, at First Assembly of God Church, 1400 W. Washington Center Road, Fort Wayne, with calling one hour prior. Pastor Ron Hawkins officiating. Calling for family and friends also from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. Sunday, Dec. 13, 2015, at Hockemeyer & Miller Funeral Home, 6131 St. Joe Road, Fort Wayne.
