Alice J. Byrd

Alice J. Byrd, 87, of Fort Wayne, Indiana passed away on Sunday, August 29, 2021. She was born on January 5, 1934 in Fort Wayne. She was a daughter of the late Elmer Rhodes and Bertha Wise. Alice worked for G.E. as an inspector for several years. She enjoyed gardening, decorating, she was an amazing cook, and spending time with her family. Alice is survived by her son, Keith (Paula) Muncie; daughter, Pamela (Bruce) Bauer; step-sons, Donald (Melody) Byrd and Thomas (Cindy) Byrd; step-daughter, Janice (Daniel) Brown; sister in-law, Ramona (Richard) Staley; and several step-grandchildren, nieces, and nephews. Also preceding her in passing was her husband, Donald “Terry” Byrd; step-daughter, Linda Byrd; brothers, Elmer Rhodes Jr. and Robert Davis; sister, Joyce Jones; step-son, Jimmy Byrd. A funeral service will be held at 1 pm on Friday, September 3, 2021 at Klaehn, Fahl, & Melton Funeral home 6424 Winchester Road Fort Wayne, Indiana 46819 with visitation one hour prior. Memorial contributions can be made to Cancer services of Northeast Indiana or Parkview Hospice.
