William “Bill” Spruell, 79 of Fort Smith, AR, passed away on Monday, September 9, 2024. He was born on January 26, 1945 in Fort Smith to the late Luther Raymond and Anne M. Schultheiss Spruell. Bill was a Landman, having worked in the oil and gas industry. He was a U.S. Navy veteran and of the Catholic faith. He was a world traveler, a writer, photographer, and a hippie in a three-piece suit, who attended many universities and graduated from none.
He is survived by two nieces, Libby Rose and Amy Puckett of Lewisville, TX; three nephews, Ray Spruell of Gulf Breeze, FL, Scott Spruell of Hot Springs, AR and David Spruell of Louisville, Kentucky; and two sisters-in-law, Bettye Spruell of Fort Smith and Gloria Spruell of Hot Springs, AR.
Graveside service will be 10:00 am Monday, September 16, 2024 at the committal shelter of the Fort Smith National Cemetery. Arrangements are under the direction of Edwards Funeral Home of Fort Smith.
