Dr. William (Bill) Crotty , 57, of Fort Smith, Arkansas died suddenly Monday, June 16th, 2014, at his home. He was born on March 15, 1957, in Okmulgee, Oklahoma to Dr. Robert Patrick Crotty and Mary Louise Kuzelka Crotty.
Dr. Crotty is survived by his best friend and devoted wife, Mrs. Teena Marie Hall Crotty; their children: Robert Crotty and James Crotty of the home, Stephanie Hall Goins and her husband Brandon Goins, of Panama, Oklahoma. Christopher Hall and and his wife Victoria Hall of Fort Smith, Arkansas; their children: Madison, Rylee, and Jameson Hall. His mother, Mary Crotty, two sisters: Dr. Maureen Crotty and her husband Dr. Mark Setser of Tulsa, Oklahoma and Patrice Crotty and her wife Claire Wyneken of St Louis, Missouri and two brothers: Dr. Robert Anton Crotty and his wife Dr. Gina Crotty of Stillwater and Shaun Crotty of Oktaha, Oklahoma, father-in-law Rolly Lenard of Hackett, Arkansas and mother-in-law Marie Aylesworth and her husband Sheldon Ayleworth of Spiro, Oklahoma, and a host of close friends, other family members including aunts, uncles and many nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his young infant son, William Patrick Crotty II and his father, Dr. Robert Patrick Crotty.
Dr. Crotty attended University of Oklahoma, where he received his Bachelor of Science Degree, and William Scholl College of Podiatric Medicine in Chicago. After completing his formal education, Dr. Crotty established Crotty Foot Clinic, PA in 1988 after working for his father and another clinic. He was a Board Certified with the American Board of Podiatric Surgery and was a Fellow with the American College of Foot and Ankle Surgeons. Dr. Crotty comes from a long family linage of Podiatrist, to include his father, sister, brother, uncle and cousin. They all have practiced podiatry in the state of Oklahoma. It has been said that there “were just too many Crotty podiatrist in Oklahoma,” so Dr. Bill Crotty decided to practice podiatry just over the state line – Arkansas. Dr. Bill Crotty had privileges at St. Edwards Mercy Hospital and Sparks Hospital in Fort Smith and Summit Hospital in Van Buren.
He was involved in many activities; most that aligned with his children, as he put his family first after God. He was an activity parent volunteer with Boy Scout Troop 380 of Fort Smith; he received Euper Lanes’ PTA Children Champion award for his and his wife’s work in the construction of the schools’ Outdoor Learning area. He was a member of Immaculate Conception Church in Fort Smith. Dr. Crotty will always be remembered for his warm and caring heart.
Rosary will be 7:00 PM Thursday, June 19, 2014 in Edwards Funeral Home Chapel, where the family will receive friends prior to the Rosary from 6:00 PM – 7:00 PM.
Funeral Mass will be 2:00 PM Friday, June 20, 2014, at Immaculate Conception Catholic Church with burial in Holy Cross Cemetery. Services are under the direction of Edwards Funeral Home.
Pallbearers will be: Bob Kuzelka, Randy Bell, Lloyd Trichell, Fred Caddell, Thomas Lenard, Allen O’mara, Matt Setser, and Blake Farmer.
