Wanda Mae Ellis

Wanda Mae Ellis, 96, of Alma, passed away Friday, April 7, 2023 in Alma. She was born April 6, 1927 in Danville, AR to the late J.V. and Amy (James) Horn. She had worked at Trans-State Lines and ABF Freight.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Bill J. Ellis.

She is survived by two daughters, Susan Copeland of Alma and Melissa Sweeney and her husband Rod of Alma; four grandchildren, Shelly Alexander and her husband Scott of Overland Park, KS, Jason Hamilton and his wife, Julie of Concord, NC, Chris Sweeney and his wife Ashley of Alma, Megan Dean and her husband Daniel of Alma as well as nine great grandchildren.

Funeral service will be 2:00 p.m. Thursday, April 13, 2023 at Edwards Funeral Home Chapel in Fort Smith with burial to follow at Woodlawn Memorial Park in Fort Smith under the direction of Edwards Funeral Home of Fort Smith, AR.

Pallbearers will be Chris Sweeney, Jason Hamilton, Rod Sweeney, Scott Alexander, and Daniel Dean.

The family will visit with friends from 1:00 p.m. until the funeral hour Thursday, April 13, 2023, at Edwards Funeral Home, 201 N 12 St, Fort Smith, AR 72901.

Viewing will be Wednesday, April 12, 2023 from 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. at Edwards Funeral Home.
