Vera L. Lee

Vera Louise Dodd Lee, 85, of Fort Smith died March 12, 2010 in a local hospital after a brief illness. Mrs. Lee was born on March 17, 1924 in Taft, MO to John William and Myrtle Lucinda Dodd. She was a homemaker, beloved wife, and devoted mother and grandmother. She was a member of New Liberty Baptist Church and a devoted follower of the Lord Jesus.

Mrs. Lee is survived by her devoted and dear husband Perry Lee, Jr. of Fort Smith; one son, Gary B. Lee and wife Jenny of Fort Smith; one daughter, Debra Lee Tucker and husband Tommy of Mexia, TX; six grandchildren, Dr. Warren Lee, David Lee, Melissa Southerland, Rebecca Sharp, Dean Gardner, and Joseph Tucker; and twelve great grandchildren; two sisters, Mary Hughes and Wilma Ponder. She was preceded in death by twelve siblings.

Funeral service will be Monday, March 15, 2010 at 10:00 AM in the Edwards Funeral Home Chapel with burial to follow in the U.S. National Cemetery all under the direction of Edwards Funeral Home.

Pallbearers will be Dr. Warren Lee, David Lee, Dean Gardner, Joseph Tucker, Roger Walters, and Randy Walters.

The family will greet friends at Edwards Funeral Home on Sunday from 5-7 PM.
