Velva Lou Atchison, 92, of Barling, Arkansas, passed away on Friday, March 12, 2021. She was born on June 14, 1928 in Spiro, Oklahoma to Lawrence J. and Myrtle Blaylock Rogers. Velva worked as a bookkeeper for Arkhola Sand and Gravel for over 30 years. She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Guy H. Atchison; two sisters, Lois Jones and Jewel Johnson; one brother, Carter Rogers.
Survivors include two sons, Jimmy Atchison and wife Cindy of Fort Smith, Jerry Atchison and wife Terrie of Tulsa; one sister, Faye Hines of Fort Worth, TX; one brother, Dewey Rogers and wife Mary of Fort Smith; seven grandchildren, thirteen great grandchildren and numerous nieces, nephews and extended family and friends.
Funeral Service will be 10 AM, Thursday, March 18, 2021 at Edwards Funeral Home Chapel. Visitation will be 3 PM till 7 PM, Wednesday, March 17, 2021 at the Funeral Home. Family will be present from 4 PM till 6 PM. Services are entrusted to Edwards Funeral Home.
