Ulysses Vaughan, 84, born July 15, 1930 at Liberty, OK, departed this life Sunday morning, February 1st in his home. He attended Dora Assembly of God church. He was a veteran of the Korean War and belonged to the Army Reserves 1952 – 53. He retired as an upholsterer for Riverside Furniture in April 1993. He is preceded in death by his parents John and Vida (Tabor) Vaughan, his brother Leo Vaughan, and great grand-daughter Lillian Grace Barnes. He is survived by his wife of 59 years, Oma Lee (Tapp) Vaughan, 2 daughters, Nancy Smith of Roland, Mona Hicks and husband Rick of Roland, 5 grand-daughters Lacey Bobbitt and husband Barry of Roland, Candice Nugent and husband Michael of Benton, AR, Haylee Smith and husband Max of Guthrie, OK, Kayla Barnes and husband Jerrit of Muldrow, OK, and Courtney Hicks of Roland, 8 great grandchildren, Warren and Cash Bobbitt, Zoey and Katelyn Nugent, Tripp Smith, Keala, Hunter, and Sadie Rae Barnes and 3 nieces, Deborah Dean of Sallisaw, Claretta O’Neal of Roland, and Lanita Chastain of Roland. Visitation for friends and family will be at Edwards Funeral Home on Tuesday, February 3rd from 6 to 7:30. The funeral service will be held at Edwards Funeral Home Chapel on Wednesday, February 4th at 10:30 AM. Burial will be at the National Cemetery with Military Honors at noon. Pallbearers will be Rick Hicks, Barry Bobbitt, Michael Nugent, Max Smith, Jerrit Barnes, and Hunter Freeman.
