He graduated from Fort Smith High School and immediately joined the Navy spending his tour in the Korean War as a Gunners Mate. After service he and his wife Patrica (Terry) lived in Chicago for a time before moving back to Fort Smith. He went to work for his Aunt at her telephone answering service. In 1957 he purchased the company and transitioned the company into a commercial printing business, Davis Printing. He spent the next 40 years building friendships and relationships within the community.
He was active in the Fort Smith Optimist Club, The Rotary Club, and Fort Smith Jaycees among many other community organizations. In 1996 he retired from Davis Printing. He enjoyed traveling, boating and won Orchid Awards for his beautiful yard that he loved spending time improving.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Everett and Josephine Davis, and wife Jenny Davis. He is survived by his sister Dolores White of Texas, his wife Marcy Davis of the home, Patricia (Terry) Strange mother of his children of Fort Smith, and children: daughters Barbara Howard and husband Ricky of Pocola and Karen Stallings and husband David of Fort Smith; and sons, Mike Davis and wife Karen of Fort Smith; and Thomas Davis and wife Debbie of Van Buren, 9 grandchildren, and 7 great grandchildren.
A memorial graveside service will be 2:00pm Friday, February 5, 2021 at the U. S. National Cemetery in Fort Smith. Services are under the direction of Edwards Funeral Home.
