Spencer Phillips, Jr, 57, (aka Charlie) of Fort Smith, passed from this life September 10, 2021 in Fort Smith. He was born February 3, 1964, in Los Angeles, California, to Spencer Phillips, Sr and Virginia Bell Phillips. One of Spencer’s favorite things to do was cook, which led him to opening Daddy Moe’s BBQ & Bistro. Even though cooking was a favorite pastime, his family was his life. He married the love of his life, Mary Flores, and immediately was a family man. Her children became his children, and he loved them all. He set a great example on how to be a husband, father and grandfather. Spencer was a true man of God. Spencer never stopped dreaming, and will be missed by all.
He is survived by his wife Mary; his daughter Liz Dominguez (Ezekiel); sons William Shipmon (Bobbie), Joshua Shipmon and Daniel Shipmon (Mona Liza); his mother Virginia Phillips; sisters Danetta Phillips and Sheri Thomas; brother Terrance Phillips; sisters-in-law Linda Bocardo, Lee Knoetgen (Tim), Nina Lombardi (Tony) and Pearl Southerland (Jim); brother-in-law Joe Golonin; granddaughter Zavina Phillips, as well as 18 other grandchildren; 9 great grandchildren, as well as numerous nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his father, and niece Cassie Leigh Cotta.
A Wake Celebrating Spencer’s Life will be from 2:00 to 6:00pm Monday, September 13, 2021 at Edwards Funeral Home. Arrangements are under the direction of Edwards Funeral Home.
