Sherrye Sexton

Sherrye Leigh Sexton, 68, of Fort Smith died at Mercy Hospital-Fort Smith on September 17, 2024 after a lengthy battle with cancer. She was born July 20, 1956 in Fort Smith to Sam and Mabel Sexton. Sherrye was a member of Goddard United Methodist Church. She was a traveling nurse who had practiced at many hospitals. She was also an avid Razorback fan.

Sherrye is survived by two daughters, Katie Sexton of Centerton and Sami Sexton of Coon Rapids, Minnesota; one brother, Chip Sexton of Fort Smith; one niece, Lisa LaVerde of Fayetteville; and three nephews, Steven Sexton of New Zealand, John Vaughn of Fort Smith, and Jason Sexton of Fort Smith.

Cremation arrangements are under the direction of Edwards Funeral Home. Memorial services will be held at Goddard United Methodist Church in Fort Smith on Wednesday, October 2, 2024 at 10:00 a.m. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Goddard United Methodist Church, c/o Food Pantry, 1922 Dodson Avenue, Fort Smith, AR 72901, or go to www.goddardumc.org.
