Sandra Ruth Clark, 84, of Fort Smith, Arkansas, passed from this life on Friday, January 15, 2021. Born November 10, 1936, in Hydro, Oklahoma, to Harvey Lee Bell and Ruth Jane Maytubby Bell, she was the second oldest of four children, with three brothers, William (Bill), Paul and Ricky. On May 27, 1956, she and Bobby Del Clark were married in Hydro, Oklahoma. The couple had two sons, whom she adored. They were married for 48 years.
Although she is best known as “Sandy” by her family and friends, her favorite title was “Gran.” To have known Gran was to love her. Genuinely kind to all, she was loyal in all her roles, and a sacrificial giver. One of her greatest joys in life was watching her children and grandchildren at any and every sporting and family event. She was their greatest encourager. She was also one of the best cooks ever. In fact, her famous chicken and dumplings and homemade cinnamon rolls were oftentimes requested from businesses for services rendered. She was jovial and always pleasant to be around. She was a hard-worker, both in the home and for the many years she worked at Rheem Manufacturing.
She is preceded in death by her husband, Bob; her parents; and her oldest brother, Bill. She is survived by her two sons, Stan (and wife, Mendy) of Fort Smith; Ken (and wife, Christy) of Muldrow, Oklahoma; six grandchildren – Lindsey Clark of Franklin, Tennessee, Jenna Morehart (and husband, Tyler) of Fort Smith, Maegan Clark of Charlottesville, Virginia, Tyler Clark (and wife, Cassie) of Windsor, Connecticut, Kensey Richards (and husband, Daniel) of Roland, Oklahoma, and Seth Clark (and wife, Katrin) of Tahlequah, Oklahoma; and seven great-grandchildren – Andrew, Luke, MollyKate and soon to arrive, Caleb Morehart, all of Fort Smith, Lucie Clark of Windsor, Connecticut, and Talon and Tye Richards of Roland, Oklahoma; two brothers, Paul Bell (and wife, Karla) of Yukon, Oklahoma, and Ricky Bell (and wife, Jolen) of Calumet, Oklahoma; a host of nieces and nephews who loved her, and life-long friends - Dale and Ireta Hart of Norman, Oklahoma, and Janet West of Roland, Oklahoma. A private family graveside service will be held at Oak Cemetery in Fort Smith. In lieu of flowers, memorials can be given to the International Mission Board of the Southern Baptist Convention (IMB) (www.imb.org/give-now/).
