Bob was born in Fort Smith, Arkansas on November 9th, 1939. He attended Fort Smith High School and the University of Arkansas. He married Cindy Jones in June of 1961. Brooks was a family man, raising three children Bob Jr., Sabra and Kevin.
He possessed an entrepreneurial spirit initiating several businesses in Arkansas and Mississippi while involved in the furniture industry over several decades. Bob had a talent for bringing people together. He enjoyed sports, good food, and spending time with friends and family.
Bob moved to Little Rock in 2011 to be closer to his daughter, Sabra, and grandson, Ryan. Over the last four years he was able to spend quality time with his son, Bob, Jr., who moved to Little Rock, Arkansas from Alexandria, Virginia. Together they followed Arkansas sports relentlessly. In his final role he was a devoted care giver to his wife, Cindy, of 63 years.
He is survived by his wife, Cindy Brooks of Little Rock; his daughter, Sabra Brooks Curry (Rex) of Little Rock; his grandson, Ryan Brooks Curry (Megan) of Midland, Texas; his Great Grandson, Rex Grayson Curry of Midland, Texas; and many other family members in Fort Smith.
He is preceded in death by his two children, Kevin Patrick Brooks and Bob Rowe Brooks, Jr. and his parents, Prentiss and Pearl Brooks.
There will be a memorial graveside service on Saturday, August 17th, 2024 at 10am at Woodlawn Memorial Park, 4211 State Line Road, Fort Smith, Arkansas 72901.
Arrangements are with Edwards Funeral Home, 201 North 12th St, Fort Smith, AR 72901.
