Ralph L. Hollocher, 83, of Fort Smith passed from this life November 11, 2015 in Fort Smith. He was born May 14, 1932, in St. Louis, Missouri, to the late Leslie Frederick and Ida Lutz Hollocher. Ralph graduated from Missouri School of Mining and Technology with a degree on Metallurgy and then went on to get his Master’s degree in business management. Before graduating college, Ralph was offered a contract with the Chicago White Sox, but was unable to play because of an illness. He retired from Ford Aerospace, known today as Lockheed Martin, as an engineer with sidewinder missile program. He was a member of Belle Pointe Lodge Number 20 and Eastern Star Lodge 402. Ralph was a member of Grand Avenue Baptist Church and was active with the choir. He also sang with the Riverblender’s Barber Shop Quartet. He was past president of the Dervish Dance Club and past president of the Morning Kiwanis Club. He loved his family, his church, Cardinals baseball and Razorback football.
He is survived by his wife Suzanne; three daughters, Diane Rohrich of Glendale, Arizona, Bonnie Prince and Mary Moore, both of Phoenix, Arizona; one son, Mike Hollocher of El Monte, California; a step daughter, Mary Gunselman of Fort Smith and a step-son, James Lewis, Jr. of Glenpool, Oklahoma; his sister, Audrey Schaper of O’Fallon, Missouri, as well as ten grandchildren.
Funeral services will be 1:00pm Monday, November 16, 2015 in Edwards Funeral Home Chapel, with Masonic rites. Burial will follow in U.S. National Cemetery in Fort Smith. The family will greet friends from 2:00 to 4:00pm Sunday, November 15, 2015 in Edwards Funeral Home Chapel. Services are under the direction of Edwards Funeral Home.
