Paul Newhouse, Sr.

Paul R. Newhouse, Sr., 83, of Greenwood, passed away Friday February 2, 2018. He was born July 23, 1934 in San Antonio, TX to the late John and Frieda Newhouse. He was retired from the Arkansas Employment Security Department. He was an Air Force Veteran of the Korean era and he retired from the Air Force in 1994. He was a member of Greenwood United Methodist Church, Temple Lodge #755, Scottish rite 32nd degree, York Rite and Shriners, Boy Scouts of America, exhausted Rooster Arkansas Jaycee, past member of the Lions Club and Kiwanis, member of Administrative Board and Delegate to North Annual Conference Methodist Church.

He was preceded in death by his parents; wife, Francis Fooks Newhouse; sister, Anna; and brothers, John and Charles.

Funeral service will be 11:00 AM Tuesday at Greenwood United Methodist Church with burial to follow at the U.S. National Cemetery in Fort Smith with full military honors under the direction of Edwards Funeral Home in Fort Smith.

He is survived by his daughter, Cathy Breedlove and husband Steven of Mt. Ida, AR; son, Paul R. Newhouse, Jr. of Bonanza, AR; two brothers, David Newhouse of Northridge, CA and Jimmy Newhouse of San Antonio, TX; and one grandson, Shelby Richard Breedlove and wife Samantha of Hermitage, AR.

Pallbearers will be Paul R. Newhouse, Jr., Steven Breedlove, Shelby Richard Breedlove, Evan Breedlove, Phillip Milligan and Gary Hawthorne.

The family will visit with friends Monday evening from 5:00 PM-7:00 PM at Edwards Funeral Home in Fort Smith.
