Paul Richard Moser, 88, of Fort Smith, died June 5, 2024 in Fort Smith. He was born June 6, 1935 in Columbus Grove, Ohio to Herschel Ralph and Adeline Elizabeth Kohli Moser. He was a graduate of Columbus Grove High School and Ohio Northern University in Ada, Ohio with a B.S degree in Electrical Engineering. After graduation in 1961, he began his career in motor design at Westinghouse Electric Corporation, in Lima, Ohio and was there for ten years. In 1971, he and his family moved to Fort Smith where he was employed by Baldor Electric as a product design engineer and retired there as the Chief Product Design Engineer. Paul was a member of the professional organizations IEEE and NEMA. He was an active member of the Lions Club, Kiwanis Club, Gideons International and Goddard United Methodist Church in Fort Smith.
He was preceded in death by the love of his life, Ruth Eileen Hitchcock Moser and his son, Richard Craig Moser. He is survived by one daughter, Chris Purser (Jim) of Brandon, Mississippi; two sons, Mike Moser (Laura) of Fort Smith and Robert B. Moser of Alcoa, Tennessee; one sister, Karen S. Neff (Steve) of Fairborn, Ohio; one brother, Scott Moser (Camie) of Houston, Texas; ten grandchildren and twelve great-grandchildren.
Funeral services will be on Friday, June 14 at 10:00 AM in the Goddard United Methodist Church. Interment of remains will follow at the Goddard United Methodist Church Columbarium. Services and cremation are under the direction of Edwards Funeral Home.
The family will greet friends at Edwards Funeral Home on Thursday evening from 5-7 PM.
