He was born in Fort Smith, AR on July 12, 1938, the fourth of five children to the late Chester and Erma Brown.
Paul attended the local schools in Eureka, CA and received a BS from the School of Forestry at Humboldt State University. He went on to work for the Department of Agriculture and always enjoyed gardening, nature and time with his loved ones.
While serving in the US Army under the 82nd Airborne Division he met Glenda F. Crawford. They were married on July 9, 1960. They shared nearly 64 happy years together living life, raising a family and serving the Lord. He loved his family beyond measure and touched the lives of all he met.
In addition to his wife, Paul is survived by two sons Michael P. Brown and his wife Laura of Wilmington, NC; Steven G. Brown and his wife Bonnie of Brandon, MS; five grandchildren: Kathlene, Jennifer, Joseph, Maria and Samuel with their spouses; six great-grandchildren: Sophia, Alexander, Nathan, Naomi, Titus and Elijah; and two sisters, Delores Jones and Wanda Willis and their spouses. He is preceded in death by his great-grandson Matthew J. Brown.
The family will receive visitors from 4-6pm, Tuesday, December 5, 2023, at Andrews Mortuary Valley Chapel.
A funeral service will be held at 1:30pm, Wednesday, December 6, 2023, at Pine Valley Baptist Church. The family will receive visitors one hour prior, beginning at 12:30.
Flowers may be sent to Andrews Mortuary Valley Chapel, 4108 S. College Rd., Wilmington, NC for the visitation and funeral service or to Edwards Funeral Home, 201 North 12th Street, Fort Smith, AR for the graveside service.
Family will greet friends from 10:00 am to 11:00 am Saturday, December 9, 2023 at Edwards Funeral Home, followed by the graveside service at Steep Hill Cemetery at 11:30 am.
