Melba Buxton Taylor, 96, of Hackett, Arkansas, passed from this life December 31, 2014 in Greenwood, Arkansas. She was born July 24, 1918, to the late Samuel and Elsie Buxton, in Kanopolis, Kansas. Melba was a librarian, a teacher, an author and a poet. She is survived by three daughters Tamara Kay Holycross and her husband Brian of Hackett, Arkansas, Glenna Jo Rosas and her husband Greg of Abilene, Texas and Gail Stinnett of McAlester, Oklahoma; five grandsons Travis and Ivan Carter, Michael and Alex Holycross and Gregory Rosas; 16 great grandchildren and 2 great-great grandchildren. Melba was preceded in death by her husband, William “Cork” Taylor; a daughter, Robin Faye Taylor; one sister, Fern Knutson and four brothers, Arthur “Art”, Robert, Charles “Dutch” and James Taylor. A memorial service will be 10:00am Monday, January 5, 2015 in Edwards Funeral Home Chapel. The family will greet friends from 2:00 to 4:00pm Sunday, January 4, 2015 at Edwards Funeral Home.
