Mary Katherine Nigh

Mary Katherine Nigh, 87, of Fort Smith, died April 11, 2017 in Fort Smith. She was born September 18, 1929 in Fort Smith to A.W. and Eunice Harmon Callan. She retired from the Fort Smith Public Library as an Assistant Librarian. She was a member of St. Paul United Methodist Church and the United Methodist Women.

She is survived by one daughter, Betsy Hayes of Fort Smith; two sons, William L. “Bill” Nigh and wife Lugene of Ocean View, DE and Robert L. “Bob” Nigh and wife Debby of Lake George, CO; four grandchildren, Lindsey Jarret, Leslie Hayes, Justin Hayes and Patrick Hayes; and three great grandchildren, Cameron, Julia, and Jamison. She was preceded in death by her husband, Edgar L. “Bill” Nigh; and one brother, A.W. Callan, Jr.

Funeral service will be Monday, April 17, 2017 at 10:00 AM in the St. Paul United Methodist Church with burial to follow in Roselawn Cemetery all under the direction of Edwards Funeral Home.

The family will greet friends on Saturday, April 15, 2017 from 3-5 PM at Edwards Funeral Home. Memorials may be made to St. Paul United Methodist Church, 4100 Grand Avenue, Fort Smith, AR 72904.
