Mary Elizabeth Charlton, 89 of Van Buren passed away Friday, June 14, 2013 in Ft. Smith. She was born July 30, 1923 in Bradgate, IA to the late Guy and Annabelle Dayton. She was a member of Grand Avenue Baptist Church where she was a Sunday School Teacher and later attended Concord Baptist Church. She was a Homemaker and a store clerk for Ben Franklin. She was preceded in death by one daughter; Kathy Charlton, two sons; Alfred James Charlton and Freddie Charlton as well as one grandson; Todd M. Charlton, and one great granddaughter; Breanna Elizabeth Charlton.
Graveside services will be 10:00 AM Thursday, June 27, 2013 at Gill Cemetery in Van Buren. Arrangements are under the direction of Fentress Mortuary of Ft. Smith.
She is survived by two daughters; Anna Belle Belt and her husband Buddy of Van Buren, one son; Richard D. Charlton and his wife Alice of Ft. Smith, as well as her 13 Grandchildren, 22 Great Grandchildren; and three Great, great, Grandchildren.
