Marlin T. Bowers, Jr., 74 of Fort Smith, passed away on Monday, January 18, 2021. He was born on November 27, 1946 in Bridgeton, NJ to Marlin T. Bowers, Sr. and Myrtle Ferguson Bowers. Marlin served with the U. S. Marine Corps in Vietnam and later joined the U. S. Army, where retired from with a combined total of 24 years of service. After retiring from the Army, Marlin was a supervisor at the Southwest Times Record. He was a Freemason, being raised to the level of Master Mason in a lodge in Germany. He was a member of the DAV Chapter 1, where he was a Past Commander, he was also a member of the American Legion.
There are no services scheduled, cremation arrangements are under the direction of Edwards Funeral Home.
He is survived by his wife Dian, of the home; his son, Timothy Patrick Bowers of Fort Smith; three brothers, James Bowers of Alpharetta, GA, Michael Bowers of Fayetteville, W. VA and Mark Bowers of Wildwood, NJ. He is also survived by three grandchildren and one great grandchild.
